Have the passion for film and a flair for writing? Flickside is your platform.
Join our growing community of Flicksiders!
We’re a fan-powered community where film buffs from around the world create engaging, insightful content around films — reviews, recommendations, interviews, tips for aspiring filmmakers, trivia, quizzes etc. Flickside is your little corner to snuggle up with films and film lovers to talk, dissect and discuss every film out there. New or old, art or commercial, popular or obscure, classic or mainstream. Any film, any language, any genre.
If you’re submitting a long-form piece, please ensure the word length is a minimum of 400 words. There is no upper limit.
So have a go at it! Write your heart out and send it to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If we think it’s awesome, we will publish it on Flickside with due credits. The article will carry:
1. Your name
2. A link (to your film blog or website, if any)
Send in your articles with ‘article submission’ in the subject line to email@example.com.
Please note that we accept only original contributions.
Articles published elsewhere will not be entertained on Flickside.
We’ll review your submission before publishing it on Flickside and may edit the article to suit the tone and voice of the site.
Feel free to review or write about a film even if we’ve already covered it on Flickside.
If you have any kind of feedback, suggestions or ideas, feel free to write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Are you a filmmaker?
So you’ve just finished making a film (short/feature/documentary) and are looking for an audience to get the word out?
Tell us about your film; why you made it, what was the experience like shooting for it, putting together the cast, hunting for locations, bringing the entire team on board and pulling off the idea. We want to know all that went in, from the script to the finished product. The mistakes you made, the challenges you faced, the lessons you learned along the way.
Submit your story about the filmmaking process and we’ll publish it on Flickside.
Add relevant links to your article — your film site, social media accounts, trailer links.
Add visuals to your story. Include pictures from the sets, film stills, quick making-of-the-film videos or anything that you think will add value to your story and be of use to our readers.
Blatant self-promotions will not be entertained. Remember, the idea is to provide value to the filmmaking community while helping your film reach your audience.
