All The Bollywood Films Due In 2022: Trailers, Release Dates
The release of a Bollywood film is often a bonafide event in its own right. In an industry where actors inspire massive followings, and a cult of personality is the rule, not the exception, films enforce the kind of unanimous celebrations that is rivaled by little else. Keeping that in mind, movie goers and cinephiles all around the country were in for a shock when the coronavirus pandemic put a stop to the highly anticipated release of many films in 2020. The same trend continued in 2021, when studios slowly and cautiously rolled out films to gauge viewing interest.
Instead, these couple of years were largely dominated by streaming services. As more and more viewers turned to cinema available on web platforms, filmmakers found a way to compromise and tell smaller stories in a way that fully complemented this new medium. Notable examples like Ludo, Bulbul and Choked made audiences sit up and take notice of the burgeoning potential of these platforms.
In 2022, things look poised for an interesting face-off. While the return of traditional big releases is just around the corner, with highly anticipated biopics and even sci-fi films lined up, streaming platforms and web films are clearly here to stay. All in all, it promises to be a rewarding year for cinephiles all over. Let’s take a look at some upcoming films this year.
